Lee Equity Partners-backed Atria Wealth Solutions has brought on Bill Morrissey, formerly an executive at LPL Financial, to run its independent advisory channel.

Atria, a wealth management holding company, divides its business between institutions like credit unions and banks, for which it staffs and manages wealth management divisions, and independent brokers and advisors. Morrissey will be head of the independent channel, helping run strategic operations and growth for Atria’s six independent broker-dealer subsidiaries. Atria’s head of recruiting, Gary Bender, and head of practice management, Brian Nelson, will report to Morrissey.

‘This role – the head of the independent channel – has always been on the drawing board from day one,’ said Atria chief executive Doug Ketterer (pictured). ‘Now’s the time. We have the size and we have the foundational platform. As we look to the future, I think there’s an incredible amount of opportunity out there. There will be a huge focus on organic growth and Bill will help lead that charge for us.’
